Alfredo Rodriguez, Jeffrey Epstein’s former household manager at his Palm Beach and other properties, was arrested in October 2009 after attempting to sell a copy of Epstein’s comprehensive personal contact directory to an attorney representing an Epstein victim.
The contact directory — which Rodriguez described as Epstein’s “little black book” — contained contact information for hundreds of people including prominent politicians, scientists, financiers, and celebrities. Rodriguez had retained a copy after leaving Epstein’s employment and saw it as a valuable evidentiary asset.
The attorney Rodriguez approached — Brad Edwards — notified law enforcement rather than purchasing the document. Rodriguez was subsequently arrested and charged with obstruction of justice for attempting to sell evidence in ongoing civil proceedings.
Rodriguez was convicted and sentenced to 18 months in federal prison. He served his sentence and died in 2015. The contact directory itself was eventually made public through legal processes, revealing the extraordinary breadth of Epstein’s elite social network.
