Epstein Estate Creates Victim Compensation Fund

In 2020, the Epstein estateunder pressure from victims’ advocates and as part of its settlement obligationsestablished the Epstein Victims’ Compensation Program (VCP). The program was administered by attorney Jordana Feldman and allowed survivors to submit claims and receive compensation without going through individual civil litigation.
The program required claimants to sign releases giving up their right to pursue further claims against the estate. As of reports through 2021-2022, it had paid approximately million to over 150 claimants. Individual award amounts were kept confidential.
Victim advocates noted the release requirement created tension: accepting compensation meant giving up potential future claims that might have been brought against the banks or other third parties.
