How much was Jeffrey Epstein worth, and where did his money come from?

At the time of his death in 2019, Jeffrey Epstein’s estate was valued at approximately ** million** according to probate filings in the U.S. Virgin Islands. Some estimates placed his net worth higher.

Origins of his wealth remain partly unclear. The documented portions include:

Leslie Wexner: The most significant documented source. Epstein managed the fortune of billionaire Leslie Wexner (founder of L Brands/Victoria’s Secret) for approximately a decade and reportedly received extraordinary compensation, including Wexner’s Manhattan townhouse one of the largest private residences in New York City transferred to Epstein for in 2011.

Investment management fees: Epstein claimed to manage money exclusively for billionaires, charging a flat percentage of assets rather than performance fees. The identities of most of his supposed clients were never fully documented.

Unexplained sources: Given the opacity of his actual business practices and the scale of his wealth, some investigators and journalists have never been fully satisfied that the wealth is entirely explained by legitimate investment management.

His estate paid approximately million to over 150 victims through the federal compensation program and million to settle the USVI lawsuit.
