The Bradford, New Hampshire Compound
FBI agents arrested Maxwell at a 156-acre property in Bradford, New Hampshirea rural area north of Concord. The property had been purchased in December 2019 for approximately million by a company with apparent links to Scott Borgerson, an internet entrepreneur Maxwell was reported to have dated.
How She Was Found
Reports indicated that federal investigators and the FBI tracked Maxwell through financial transaction analysis, surveillance of known associates, and intelligence on her movements. Maxwell had reportedly taken steps to obscure her locationincluding new communications devices.
The Arrest
Agents descended on the Bradford property in the early morning of July 2, 2020. Maxwell allegedly attempted to discard a cell phone during the arrest. She was taken to the federal courthouse in Concord, NH, and later transferred to the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn.
What Maxwell Said
At her initial court appearance, Maxwell stated through counsel she had complied with all laws during her time in New Hampshire. She pleaded not guilty to all charges.
