Background: Ghislaine is the daughter of Robert Maxwell, the British media magnate who died in mysterious circumstances in November 1991 when he fell (or jumped, or was pushed) from his yacht Lady Ghislaine near the Canary Islands. After his death, it was revealed that Robert Maxwell had looted hundreds of millions from employee pension funds, leaving his companies in scandal.
Meeting and Relationship: After her father’s death and the financial and reputational collapse of the Maxwell empire, Ghislaine moved to New York.
