Did Epstein know about or help plan his own defense team's strategy?

Multiple reports and legal filings indicate Epstein was personally engaged in the management of his defense. In the 2019 federal case, his bail proposal was unusually elaborate: he offered to post .5 million in assets, surrender his passport, confine himself to his home, employ private security, and wear GPS monitoring. This level of detail suggests active participation in defense strategy. Epstein also remained in close communication with his attorneys in the weeks before his death, including during the periods when concerns about his welfare were reportedly raised. His death prevented assessment of what trial strategy he might have authorized.
