The Documented Meetings
Bill Gates met Jeffrey Epstein on multiple occasions between 2011 and 2014after Epstein had pleaded guilty to soliciting prostitution from a minor in 2008 and was a registered sex offender. Documented meetings included:
- A 2011 meeting at Epstein’s Manhattan townhouse, attended by Gates and several other figures
- Multiple follow-up conversations about potential Gates Foundation funding arrangements
- Epstein’s persistent efforts to obtain a co-financing arrangement with the Gates Foundation for a proposed global health fund
Gates’ Explanation
Gates has publicly acknowledged the meetings and stated:
- He regrets having met Epstein
- He was primarily interested in Epstein’s philanthropy network and claimed not to realize the depth of Epstein’s criminal conduct
- He was told Epstein could help connect the Gates Foundation with foreign government funding
- Epstein’s proposed arrangements ultimately went nowhere
Melinda Gates’ Perspective
Melinda French Gates (Gates’ former wife) publicly stated she had warned Bill about Epstein and was “very uncomfortable” with the relationship. She identified Epstein as a factor in her eventual decision to discuss divorce. The couple divorced in 2021.
What the Evidence Shows
No evidence has emerged linking Bill Gates to Epstein’s trafficking operation or suggesting Gates participated in or had knowledge of the abuse. The documents released in 2024 do not name Gates in relation to criminal conduct. His association with Epstein was professional rather than personal.
