Investigations

What evidence was seized from Epstein's properties in 2019?

Following Epstein’s July 2019 arrest, federal agents executed a search warrant at his Manhattan townhouse at 9 East 71st Street. The search produced significant materials.

What Was Found

Federal prosecutors described discovering: a ‘vast trove’ of photographs of nude and partially nude young women, including potentially minors; electronic devices; and documents relevant to the trafficking investigation.

The ‘Classic Tools’ Statement

Prosecutors stated at a bail hearing that investigators found ‘classic tools of the trade of a trafficker’ in the Manhattan residence. This language indicated the seized materials were directly relevant to trafficking charges.

The USVI Property

Properties in the USVI were also subject to searches and seizure proceedings as part of the investigation.

Disposition of Evidence

The full disposition of seized evidence is not publicly known. Following Epstein’s death, the 2019 case was dismissed. Some materials were preserved for ongoing civil and potential related prosecutions. The SDNY did not publicly disclose everything seized.
