Jeffrey Epstein owned an apartment in Paris, France, located in the upscale Avenue Foch area. The property was used as part of his international operations and was connected to his relationships with French associates, particularly Jean-Luc Brunel.
After Epstein’s death in August 2019, French authorities opened their own investigation into alleged crimes that may have occurred in France. The probe expanded to examine Brunel and others connected to the modeling-industry pipeline that allegedly supplied victims.
The Paris apartment became part of the Epstein estate administered by executors Darren Indyke and Richard Kahn. Assets were subject to the claims of creditors and victims. As a foreign property, its disposition was subject to French law in addition to U.S. estate proceedings.
Jean-Luc Brunel, who was closely tied to French operations and the Paris modeling circuit, was arrested in France in December 2020 and held pending trial. He died by suicide in a Paris prison in February 2022 before his case was resolved.
The French investigation into Epstein-connected activities in France continued after both men’s deaths.
