The Property
Zorro Ranch was Epstein’s sprawling private property in Stanley, New Mexico, approximately 40 miles southeast of Santa Fe. The estate encompassed roughly 8,000 acres and included:
- A roughly 30,000 sq ft main residence
- Guest accommodations
- Ranch infrastructure
- An airstrip
The Activities
Victims and witnesses testified that Zorro Ranch was used for the same pattern of abuse as Epstein’s other properties. Epstein would fly young women there on his private planes. Scientists, academics, and social figures were also known to visit for multi-day gatheringsincluding organized intellectual symposiums.
The Post-Death Disposition
Following Epstein’s August 2019 death:
- The property was secured by the estate’s executors
- New Mexico authorities cooperated with federal investigators
- The estate eventually listed the property for sale
The ranch was sold in 2023 as part of the broader estate liquidation. The sale price was not publicly disclosed in full, but reporting indicated it sold at a significant discount from its estimated value of approximately million.
The New Mexico Eugenics Discussion
Zorro Ranch was the location most associated with Epstein’s reported discussions about eugenics and his desire to “seed the human race.” Multiple scientists recalled conversations at the ranch about genetic enhancement and human reproduction. These discussions, while disturbing, did not result in criminal charges.
