Criminal Case Status
Maxwell: Incarcerated at FCI Tallahassee. Her appeal was denied by the Second Circuit in late 2024. She has not publicly announced a Supreme Court petition.
Groff: Sentenced in 2022 to time served. Serves supervised release.
Guards: The MCC New York guards who were charged in connection with the night of Epstein’s deathTova Noel and Michael Thomashad their case dismissed in 2021 after the government declined to proceed to trial.
New charges: No new criminal charges related to the Epstein network have been announced as of early 2026.
Congressional Activity
Multiple Congressional committees have pursued oversight investigations:
- Senate Judiciary Committee hearings on the 2008 plea deal
- House investigations into attorney conduct and DOJ oversight
- Requests for DOJ Inspector General review
Results have been largely document-focused rather than leading to new prosecutions.
Document Releases
Ongoing FOIA requests and court orders have produced additional document releases in 2024 and 2025. These have added detail to what is known but have not produced major new revelations of previously unknown names.
Civil Cases
Multiple civil cases against the Epstein estate, Maxwell, Deutsche Bank (settled), and other entities continue or are in final resolution phases.
Victims’ Compensation Fund
The fund established by the estate has substantially completed its work. The final tally of claims resolved exceeded expectations.
