Deutsche Bank, which served as Epstein’s primary banker from approximately 2013 to 2018 after JPMorgan ended the relationship, paid million to the New York Department of Financial Services (NYDFS) in July 2020. The NYDFS found that Deutsche Bank had failed to properly conduct anti-money laundering due diligence on Epstein despite receiving alerts about his conduct. The bank processed millions in suspicious transactions without adequate scrutiny. Separately, Epstein’s victims filed suit against Deutsche Bank. The DFS settlement was one of the largest bank regulatory penalties connected to the Epstein case.
