The Edge Foundation, run by literary agent John Brockman, organizes annual gatherings of scientists, technologists, and intellectuals and publishes their responses to annual questions (the ‘Edge Annual Question’). Epstein was a financial supporter of Brockman and the Edge organization and attended Edge dinners, which brought together Nobel laureates, leading scientists, and technologists. This relationship was one mechanism through which Epstein gained social access to academic elites.
