MC2 Model Management was a modeling agency founded by Jean-Luc Brunel, a French modeling agent and close associate of Jeffrey Epstein. Epstein provided approximately $1 million in startup funding to MC2, which gave him access to and influence over the agency’s operations.
Brunel had long-standing ties to the modeling industry. Multiple models had accused him of sexual misconduct dating back to the 1980s, yet he maintained connections at the top of the industry. MC2 gave him a vehicle to continue operating.
Through MC2, Brunel and associates recruited young women — some underage, some foreign — and brought them to the United States. Some were placed in Epstein’s properties and trafficked to him and his associates. Virginia Giuffre and other victims named Brunel as a participant in the abuse.
Jean-Luc Brunel was arrested in France in 2020 and charged with aggravated rape of minors. He died in his Paris cell in February 2022 — ruled a suicide — before he could be tried.
The MC2 connection illustrated how Epstein used legitimate-looking business vehicles (a modeling agency) as a recruitment pipeline. It also explained the international dimension of his trafficking operation, bringing women from Eastern Europe, South America, and elsewhere.
