Ghislaine Maxwell: The Organizer
Maxwell’s federal conviction established her role beyond dispute. She recruited young women and girls, often in socioeconomic circumstances that made them vulnerable. She was present during abuse, normalized the conduct for new victims, and in some instances participated directly. She also helped train women who would become recruiters themselves.
Jean-Luc Brunel: International Pipeline
Brunel, operating through his modeling agencies MC2 Model Management and others, used the modeling industry as a cover for international recruitment. He brought young women and girls from France, Eastern Europe, and Brazil into Epstein’s orbit, often on promises of modeling careers and travel opportunities. Epstein partially funded Brunel’s modeling operations, effectively making them a subsidiary of his recruitment infrastructure. Brunel died in French custody in 2022 before trial.
Female Recruiters
A documented feature of the operation was the use of older female victims who had themselves been recruited and were subsequently used as recruiters (“victim-turned-recruiter” pattern). Sarah Kellen managed scheduling. Adriana Ross handled logistics. In trial testimony, victims described being asked to bring friends to Epstein, sometimes receiving payments when they did.
