Who Is Jes Staley

James ‘Jes’ Staley is a senior American banker who served as CEO of JPMorgan’s investment bank and later as CEO of Barclays, the British bank. He was among the most prominent bankers in the world.

The Epstein Friendship

Staley had a personal friendship with Epstein that included regular communication when Staley was at JPMorgan. Emails released in litigation showed the friendly tone of communications, with Epstein addressed informally.

The Barclays Regulatory Investigation

After Epstein’s 2019 arrest and death, UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and Prudential Regulation Authority investigated Staley’s characterization of his relationship with Epstein to Barclays board members and regulators.
