Four survivors testified against Ghislaine Maxwell at her federal criminal trial, which ran from November 29 to December 29, 2021, in U.S. District Court in Manhattan.
Because of the sensitive nature of the case and the survivors’ privacy interests, the four survivors were permitted to use pseudonyms throughout the trial. They were referred to as Jane, Kate, Carolyn, and Annie Farmer (although Annie Farmer later publicly identified herself by name and waived anonymity).
- Jane: Testified to being abused as a teenager at Epstein’s Palm Beach home and at his New Mexico ranch. Her account was among the most detailed.
- Kate: A British woman who testified about abuse at Epstein’s London home when she was a teenager in the early 1990s.
- Carolyn: Testified about being recruited and abused at Epstein’s Palm Beach home as a minor, with Maxwell allegedly present.
- Annie Farmer: Testified about being taken to Epstein’s New Mexico ranch at age 16 and being touched inappropriately. She was the only witness who used her real name, having previously appeared publicly as an accuser.
The jury convicted Maxwell on five of six counts. The testimony of these four survivors was central to the conviction.
