Legal Career and Epstein Cases

Brad Edwards is a Fort Lauderdale, Florida-based attorney who has made victims’ rights and civil litigation against powerful defendants a centerpiece of his practice. He began representing Epstein survivors shortly after the 2008 NPA was announced and has continued doing so for over 15 years.

Crime Victims’ Rights Act Litigation

Alongside law professor Paul Cassell, Edwards filed suit arguing that the 2008 NPA violated the Crime Victims’ Rights Act (CVRA, 18 U.S.C. § 3771) — specifically, that prosecutors had negotiated and signed the agreement without notifying victims or giving them an opportunity to be heard as the law requires.

The litigation wound through federal courts for nearly a decade. In February 2019, Judge Kenneth Marra of the Southern District of Florida ruled in their favor: prosecutors had violated the CVRA by concealing the NPA from Epstein’s victims.

Epstein’s Harassment Campaign

Edwards documented a sustained pattern of intimidation by Epstein and his legal team, including:

• Following and surveilling Edwards and his clients
• Attempting to have Edwards disbarred
• Filing frivolous legal countersuits to drain his resources

Edwards co-authored a book, Relentless Pursuit: My Fight for the Victims of Jeffrey Epstein (2020), detailing his 12-year legal battle against Epstein and his network.

Post-2019

After Epstein’s 2019 arrest and death, Edwards continued litigating on behalf of survivors against Epstein’s estate and against third parties including financial institutions. He has worked closely with other victims’ attorneys including Sigrid McCawley and David Boies in pursuing civil claims in multiple jurisdictions.
