Who Was Jean-Luc Brunel
Jean-Luc Brunel was a prominent French modeling agent who worked in the industry for decades. He founded and operated several agencies, most notably MC2 Model Management, which was substantially funded by Jeffrey Epstein. Brunel was one of Epstein’s closest European associates for over two decades.
Connection to Epstein
Brunel and Epstein met in the 1990s. Multiple victims alleged that Brunel served as a recruiter of young women and girls for Epstein, sourcing models from Europe, Latin America, and elsewhere. Brunel had access to Epstein’s properties including the Paris apartment and Little Saint James.
According to court documents, Epstein wired $1 million to Brunel’s company around the time MC2 was founded, providing the financial backbone for the agency.
Victim Allegations
Numerous victims named Brunel in civil suits and court testimony. Virginia Giuffre (Roberts) alleged that Brunel introduced her to Epstein. Other women stated Brunel recruited them under promises of modeling careers, then delivered them to Epstein.
Arrest and Death
- December 2020: Brunel was arrested at Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris while attempting to board a flight.
- Charges: Rape and sexual assault of minors, aggravated by a position of authority.
- February 19, 2022: Brunel was found dead in his cell at La Santé Prison, Paris. French authorities ruled it a suicide by hanging.
