Epstein’s Annual Calendar: How He Moved Between Properties

Jeffrey Epstein’s documented movement between properties provides a geographic picture of how his operation functioned across multiple sites. Based on flight logs, court testimony, and victim accounts, a pattern emerges.

The Properties

At the peak of his operation (roughly 2000–2008), Epstein maintained:

• 9 East 71st Street, Manhattan, New York — primary operational and social base; used for dinner parties, victim access, business meetings
• 358 El Brillo Way, Palm Beach, Florida — primary abuse site in early investigations; scene of Palm Beach police investigation
• Little Saint James, U.S. Virgin Islands — primary island residence; major abuse site; location of scientific gatherings
• New Mexico (Zorro Ranch) — large property used for scientific conferences and victim access; location 2008 Annie Farmer incident
• Avenue Foch, Paris, France — European base; used during international travel
• New York apartment buildings — additional properties in the East Side of Manhattan used for various purposes

Seasonal Movement

Winter (December–February): Palm Beach was the primary warm-weather residence. The Palm Beach mansion was the site of most of the activity investigated by the Palm Beach Police Department. Florida’s winter climate, the social scene in Palm Beach, and proximity to major international travel routes made it the winter hub.

Spring and Fall: Manhattan was the primary base. New York provided access to the financial and social networks that formed Epstein’s core support structure. Dinner parties at the townhouse, meetings with academics and businesspeople, and operational management of his team all centered in New York.

Summer: The U.S. Virgin Islands were the summer focal point. Little Saint James was at its most accessible and comfortable in summer. Academic conferences were hosted there in the 2000s. Multiple victim accounts describe summer visits to the island.

New Mexico: The Zorro Ranch was used more intermittently, particularly for specific events — Annie Farmer’s encounter in 1996 was connected to a ranch gathering, and the property was used for scientific meetings. The remote New Mexico location offered both privacy and the opportunity to pitch the ranch environment as an unusual retreat for scientists and intellectuals.

International travel: Epstein’s travel to Europe — primarily Paris and his various international destinations — occurred throughout the year, typically on the Boeing 727. Flight logs document travel to European cities, the Middle East, and Africa, among other destinations.

What the Pattern Revealed to Investigators

The seasonal pattern created a natural investigation challenge: Palm Beach police, when they mounted their investigation in 2005–2006, had jurisdiction only over activity in Palm Beach County. Activity that occurred primarily in New York, the USVI, or New Mexico was outside their reach. This geographic dispersion of the crime across multiple jurisdictions was not incidentally convenient — it reflected how a wealthy offender’s multi-property lifestyle naturally frustrated single-jurisdiction investigations.

The SDNY’s 2019 indictment specifically charged conduct occurring across New York and Palm Beach with supplemental allegations reaching across Epstein’s network, specifically designed to establish federal jurisdiction that would reach beyond any single location.

After 2008

After the 2008 conviction, Epstein’s movement pattern continued largely unchanged. He maintained all his properties, continued his international travel, and continued hosting events. The only meaningful concession to his sex offender status was registration requirements, which investigation subsequently showed were inadequately maintained at some properties.
