Overview
Jeffrey Epstein owned and operated a fleet of private aircraft that played a central enabling role in his sex trafficking network. The aircraft allowed him to transport victims and associates across jurisdictionsdomestic and internationalwith minimal oversight. Flight logs subpoenaed in civil litigation became some of the most significant documentary evidence linking elite passengers to Epstein.
Aircraft in the Fleet
Boeing 727-200 (N908JE / N120JE) The most notorious aircraft, dubbed the “Lolita Express” by tabloid media. This large jet could seat dozens of passengers and was used for long-haul flights including trips to the U.S. Virgin Islands, Europe, and Africa. It was registered under various entities tied to Epstein.
Gulfstream GV (N212JE) A smaller, faster aircraft used for shorter domestic trips. Also documented in the flight logs.
Smaller Aircraft Epstein maintained additional aircraft including helicopters registered at Zorro Ranch and for Virgin Islands transport.
The Flight Logs
When attorney Bradley Edwards subpoenaed aviation records in civil litigation, the resulting flight logscovering roughly 2001-2005listed passengers by first name or initials. The logs documented:
- Hundreds of flights to Epstein’s properties
- Named passengers including politicians, royalty, celebrities, and academics
- Minors traveling without parental chaperones
These logs became the basis for sustained public scrutiny of individuals who flew with Epstein, though flight log entries alone do not establish participation in any wrongdoing.
Jurisdictional Implications
Federal trafficking charges require cross-border transportation. The aircraft directly implicated federal jurisdiction. The Southern District of New York’s 2019 charges specifically cited transportation of minors in interstate commerce.
After His Death
The Bitcoin 727 was eventually sold after Epstein’s death as part of the estate liquidation. It sold for several million dollars to an aviation company.
