Overview
Epstein did not operate alone. A small inner circle of associates handled logistics, recruitment, and victim management on a daily basis. Court proceedings, civil lawsuits, and FBI investigations have documented the following individuals as having significant involvement.
Ghislaine Maxwell
Maxwell was Epstein’s closest associate from the late 1980s onward. She managed his household staff, recruited victims, and directly participated in sexual abuse. Convicted December 2021 on five federal counts; sentenced to 20 years in June 2022. She was the most comprehensively prosecuted of all Epstein’s associates.
Sarah Kellen (later Nader)
Kellen served as Epstein’s executive assistant in New York and Palm Beach, managing his schedule and functioned as a primary point of contact for victims. Victims consistently identified her as a direct participant in abuse and a recruiter. She received immunity from prosecution in the 2008 plea deal. Her name appears constantly in the unsealed documents; she married NASCAR driver Brian Nader.
Nadia Marcinkova (later Marcinko)
Described in victim accounts as a “sex slave” obtained from the Balkans, Marcinkova later became a participant in the abuse of other victims. She also received immunity in 2008. She later became a licensed pilot and operates a flight school under her married name.
Adriana Ross (formerly Adriana Mucinska)
Ross was a Polish model connected to Epstein through MC2, later employed by him directly. She received immunity in 2008. She invoked the Fifth Amendment numerous times during depositions, refusing to answer virtually all substantive questions.
Lesley Groff
Groff was Epstein’s primary executive assistant in New York, managing travel and correspondence. In 2022, she pleaded guilty to a federal charge for facilitating victim transportation, was sentenced to time served and supervised release.
Jean-Luc Brunel
Brunel was a French modeling agent who co-owned MC2 Model Management. He was accused of decades of sexual abuse with Epstein and of supplying young women from Eastern Europe. Arrested in France in 2020, he died in custody in February 2022ruled a suicidebefore trial.
Emmy Tayler
Maxwell’s personal assistant, Tayler was identified in victim accounts as present during abuse. She has not been charged.
