What Was MC2?
MC2 Model Management was a legitimate modeling agency with offices in Miami, New York, and internationally. It represented real models and conducted standard modeling industry business. However, it also servedthrough Brunel’s roleas a recruitment pipeline for Epstein’s trafficking operation.
Jean-Luc Brunel
Brunel was a French modeling agent with decades of industry experience. He had prior allegations of sexual misconduct in the modeling world dating to the 1980sallegations documented in a 1988 60 Minutes segment that had minimal lasting impact on his career.
His relationship with Epstein was longstanding, and Epstein provided financial backing to MC2 in exchange for access to Brunel’s network.
How MC2 Was Used
Brunel used MC2’s legitimate activities as cover for identifying young womenoften from economically developing regionswho could be presented as modeling candidates and introduced to Epstein:
- Eastern Europe: Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia
- Brazil: Through Brunel’s established connections
- New York: Urban modeling-adjacent recruitment
Young women were told they had modeling opportunities. Visa and travel arrangements were made. Some were minors.
Brunel’s Fate
Brunel was arrested in Paris in December 2020. Held pending trial, he was found dead in his cell at Santé Prison in February 2022ruled a suicide. His death meant MC2’s full operation was never subjected to a full criminal trial.
