The 2019 Search
Federal agents executed a search warrant on Epstein’s Manhattan townhouse at 9 East 71st Street shortly after his July 6, 2019 arrest in New Jersey. The search was comprehensive and covered the seven-story building.
What Was Found
Prosecutors later described the search as yielding a substantial amount of evidence including:
- Compact discs and hard drives containing photographs
- Nude photographs of young women that investigators believed to include underage individuals
- A compact disc labeled in ways suggesting it contained images relevant to the abuse
- Documents relating to his associates and financial dealings
Surveillance Systems
The mansion’s elaborate surveillance and security systems were also noted. The property had cameras covering exterior entrances and reportedly extensive additional camera installations.
The Safe
Reports described investigators finding a wall safe at the property containing items of evidentiary value, including a foreign passport that formed part of the government’s bail argument.
Significance
The contents of the townhouse, combined with evidence from Epstein’s other properties, formed the evidentiary core of what prosecutors described as a systemic, well-documented trafficking operation.
