Jeffrey Epstein maintained a fleet of private aircraft over the course of his operations, and the flight logs associated with those aircraft became among the most consequential documentary evidence in the legal proceedings surrounding his network.
Epstein’s aircraft included a Boeing 727 nicknamed by critics the “Lolita Express,” a smaller Gulfstream, and helicopters stationed at his properties, including the Virgin Islands. The jets enabled rapid movement between his U.S. residences, international destinations, and private properties without the screening, documentation, and visibility associated with commercial aviation.
David Rodgers served as one of Epstein’s primary pilots for a period of the operation’s history. Pilots maintained flight logs as Federal Aviation Administration requirements mandated, and those logs — detailing destinations, dates, and passenger names — became critical evidentiary documents when civil litigants sought to establish who had traveled with Epstein and when.
The flight logs produced in discovery showed passenger lists that included prominent names: politicians, scientists, financiers, and public figures. This documentation became a central element of reporting by the Miami Herald and other outlets, and of civil litigation theory building.
The aviation infrastructure also enabled international trafficking that would have been far more difficult to conceal with commercial travel. The direct flights to private airstrips — at Little Saint James, Zorro Ranch, and international destinations — moved victims and facilitated abuse across jurisdictions in ways that hindered any single investigative authority from seeing the full picture.
