Clinton flew on Epstein’s Boeing 727 multiple times between 2002 and 2003, according to flight logs. Clinton’s office acknowledged approximately 26 flights and stated he traveled with Secret Service. Clinton denied knowledge of Epstein’s crimes and has not been implicated in criminal conduct.
Donald Trump
Trump knew Epstein socially from New York and Mar-a-Lago in the 1990s. In 2002, Trump told New York Magazine that Epstein was a “terrific guy.” After Epstein’s 2019 arrest, Trump stated he had known Epstein but had a falling out with him years earlier.
The Accountability Problem
Both major-party presidents of the 2000s had documented connections to Epstein. This cross-partisan relationship is one reason political accountability has been limitedneither party has incentive to comprehensively investigate the other’s exposure.
What Is and Is Not Established
Neither Clinton nor Trump has been credibly alleged to have participated in Epstein’s crimes. Their social connections are documented. The more significant political accountability failure relates to the DOJ and law enforcement, not elected officials.
