For legitimate visitors, the island offered world-class amenities: a private beach, exceptional food, boats, and the appeal of absolute privacy. Invitations to the island were coveted social currency.
The Abuse Context
Victim accounts consistently describe being brought to the island by Epstein’s aircraft and encountering an environment where massage requests were immediately sexualized, where there was no means of independent departure, and where they were isolated from any protective presence.
The Massage Framing on the Island
The same massage framing used in Palm Beach and New York was replicated on the island. Young women were brought ostensibly for massage work before sexual abuse occurred.
Evidence from the 2019 Search
When federal agents searched the island pursuant to a warrant in 2019, they found evidence relevant to the prosecution. The search generated materials that became part of the evidentiary record.
Powerful Visitors
Flight manifests and testimony established that various powerful individuals visited the island at various times. Some were unaware of the trafficking activities; others may have had varying levels of knowledge.
