Epstein’s Annual Property Movement Pattern
Jeffrey Epstein operated a network of properties across multiple continents and maintained documented patterns of movement between them. Court records, flight logs, and testimony establish a roughly consistent seasonal rotation that informed both his lifestyle and arguably his jurisdictional strategy.
The Documented Pattern
Winter (November–April): Palm Beach Epstein’s primary winter residence was the El Brillo Way mansion on Palm Beach Island, Florida. The Palm Beach social season runs November through Easter, and Epstein was present during this period in most years. The core victims described in the 2005-2006 investigation were primarily recruited and abused here during the winter season.
Spring (April–June): New York Epstein annually returned to his New York base — 9 East 71st Street — as Palm Beach season ended. New York was his financial and social headquarters, as well as being the location of additional abuse documented in the 2019 SDNY indictment.
Summer (June–August): New Mexico / New York The Zorro Ranch in Stanley, New Mexico served as a summer retreat. Multiple victims described being brought to Zorro Ranch, including Annie Farmer, who reported abuse there in 1996. New York remained active through this period as well.
Autumn (September–October): New York, periodic travel Autumnal periods saw Epstein active in New York, with international travel to Paris and London woven throughout the year. European visits were less seasonal and more event-driven — business meetings, social events, trips associated with Ghislaine Maxwell’s networks.
Little Saint James: Year-Round
Little Saint James Island in the USVI was used year-round but with peaks corresponding to times Epstein wished to operate with maximum isolation. The island’s geographic seclusion made it a year-round destination rather than a seasonal one.
The Strategic Dimension
Epstein’s physical movement across jurisdictions was not merely logistical. Each property sat in a different legal jurisdiction:
- Palm Beach: Florida state and SDFL
- New York: SDNY and New York state
- New Mexico: SDNM
- USVI: USVI territory and federal USVI
This distribution meant that no single law enforcement office had full visibility of his conduct, and that victim testimony in any one jurisdiction covered only a fraction of the total criminal activity.
Changes After 2008
After his 2008 conviction and release, Epstein’s travel pattern was modified by his sex offender registration requirements. He reportedly reduced time in Palm Beach (where public scrutiny was highest) and increased use of the USVI, which became more important as his legal primary domicile. Evidence from the 2013–2019 period suggests he continued to travel internationally despite technically constrained sex offender reporting requirements.
