Scale of the New Mexico Holdings
Jeffrey Epstein’s New Mexico holdings were substantial:
- The Zorro Ranch property covered approximately 10,000 acres in Stanley, New Mexico (Torrance County)
- Epstein also owned additional parcels in the surrounding area
- The ranch included a large main house, staff quarters, airstrip, and extensive outbuildings
- The remote location — approximately 30 miles from Albuquerque — provided isolation
The Airstrip
A critical feature of the Zorro Ranch was its private airstrip:
- Epstein could fly directly to the ranch from New Mexico’s Albuquerque airport connection points
- Young women were flown in and out with minimal documentation
- The airstrip appears in flight records and victim accounts
Activities at the Ranch
Multiple victim accounts and investigative records describe the ranch as being used for:
- Sexual abuse similar to that at other Epstein properties
- Scientific gatherings (the ranch is near the Santa Fe Institute and Los Alamos)
- Long-term stays by victims brought from other locations
The New Mexico Investigation
The state of New Mexico pursued its own investigation into Epstein’s activities:
- New Mexico Attorney General investigated Epstein’s ranch activities beginning in 2019
- Former New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson’s name appeared in some documentation
- The investigation was complicated by Epstein’s death and questions about what the federal NPA protected
Environmental and Development Context
Beyond trafficking, the ranch property had:
- Plans for various development projects
- Scientific research facilities

Post-Death Disposition
After Epstein’s death, the Zorro Ranch was part of his estate. The property was eventually liquidated as part of the estate settlement process, with proceeds available to creditors and the victims’ compensation fund.
