Who Is Johanna Sjoberg?
Johanna Sjoberg is a Swedish-American woman who was recruited into Epstein’s network through a common pattern — she was approached about work opportunities that were misrepresented to her.
She testified at the Ghislaine Maxwell criminal trial in December 2021 as one of four women who testified about being trafficked by the Epstein-Maxwell operation.
Recruitment
Sjoberg was recruited by Ghislaine Maxwell in approximately 2001. Maxwell approached her with offers of work in Epstein’s social orbit, describing access to wealthy, influential people and exciting career opportunities.
Like others, Sjoberg was quickly directed into sexual servitude once integrated into the operation.
Trial Testimony
Sjoberg’s trial testimony was notable because she:
- Gave detailed, specific accounts of sexual abuse by Epstein
- Described Maxwell’s direct role in recruiting, manipulating, and directing victims
- Provided corroboration for Virginia Giuffre’s account of Prince Andrew
- Named specific locations and circumstances with enough detail to be checked against other evidence
The Prince Andrew Corroboration
Critically, Sjoberg testified that she was present and witnessed Virginia Giuffre with Prince Andrew during a visit. This independent corroboration of Giuffre’s account was one of the more significant pieces of evidence in the broader documentation of that incident.
Andrew’s settlement with Giuffre in January 2022, shortly after the Maxwell trial evidence became public, was widely linked to the cumulative evidence weight including Sjoberg’s testimony.

Legal Status
