Who Is Maria Farmer
Maria Farmer is an American artist who worked for Jeffrey Epstein in the mid-1990s. She is one of the most publicly vocal survivors and has spoken extensively when many others chose not to.
What Happened
Farmer has stated that she was abused by both Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell at Epstein’s New York residence in 1996. She and her sister Annie Farmer (who testified at the Maxwell trial under her own name) subsequently reported the abuse to the FBI.
The FBI Response
FBI agents interviewed her family in 1996. The complaint was not pursued. This means federal authorities may have been alerted to Epstein’s conduct approximately nine years before the first formal Palm Beach criminal investigation began.
Ongoing Advocacy
Farmer appeared in the Netflix documentary “Jeffrey Epstein: Filthy Rich” and has given extensive media interviews. She has been critical of settlements she views as insufficient and of the continuing non-prosecution of named associates.
