Virginia Giuffre (born Virginia Roberts) is one of the most prominent Epstein survivors and advocates. She filed lawsuits against Ghislaine Maxwell and Prince Andrew, and her testimony was central to multiple prosecutions.

Who is Virginia Giuffre?

Virginia Giuffre (born Virginia Roberts, 1983) is an American activist and survivor who was recruited into Epstein’s network as a teenager in 2000. She became one of the most prominent voices in exposing Epstein’s trafficking operation.

Recruitment (2000)

Virginia Roberts was 17 years old and working at Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach when she was recruited by Ghislaine Maxwell. She was told she would receive massage training and travel opportunities.

Abuse

Over the following years, Giuffre was trafficked to numerous Epstein associates, allegedly including:

  • Prince Andrew (denied by him)
  • Alan Dershowitz (denied by him)
  • Various other named individuals

Giuffre v. Maxwell (2015)

Virginia Giuffre filed a defamation suit against Ghislaine Maxwell after Maxwell publicly called her a liar. The case settled in 2017 for an undisclosed sum. The case file was unsealed in January 2024, revealing depositions from both parties.

Giuffre v. Prince Andrew (2021)

Giuffre sued Prince Andrew for sexual assault. The case settled in February 2022. Prince Andrew made a financial payment to Giuffre’s charitable foundation and stated he “regrets his association with Epstein.”

Advocacy

Virginia Giuffre co-founded SOAR (Speak Out Act Reform) to advocate for trafficking survivors. She testified before Congress and in multiple legal proceedings.

Health

In March 2024, Giuffre publicly disclosed serious health issues following a car accident, but stated she would continue advocacy work.
